The menu is a vibrant showcase of options, with exciting choices such as:

  • Meatball Banh Mi (xiu mai)

  • BBQ Pork Banh Mi (heo quay)
  • Fish Banh Mi (ca moi)

However, Thanh Son Tofu and Bakery is more than just a stop for sandwiches. It also offers an array of delectable tofu products, perfect for both cooking at home and trying right on the spot. Customers rave about the fresh sweetened soy milk and various delicious tofu dishes like fried tofu with lemongrass or classic tofu dessert with ginger syrup, which have become customer favorites over the years. One patron, Tai D., describes it perfectly: "This is my go-to place for fresh sweetened soy milk and tofu... I'm happy to wait in line for these treats."

The eatery serves as a dual-function space—a deli and a store—making it a great stop for both takeout and shopping for delicious tofu items. With a menu that caters to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike, there’s truly something for everyone.

Parking can be a bit tricky since the space is shared and sometimes congested, but the convenience of a dedicated parking area and a quick order-and-takeout system makes it worth the effort. This is my go to place for fresh sweetened soy milk and tofu. I also get the frozen spring rolls. I've been getting the same things for years! You can buy tofu by the pound and all kinds of other goodies. The parking can be congested at times and might have a bit of a line to wait I'm happy to do so.

This is a take out establishment where you order and pay at the counter. I love how they have their own parking lot. They have lots of delicious food ranging from banh mi to freshly made soy bean products such as soy bean milk, tofu dessert with sweet ginger syrup, and fried tofu (plain and flavored). They make their own bread for the banh mi. Ordered the following: Fried tofu stuffed with meat, vermicelli, woodear mushrooms - tasted ok, the meat filling wasn't very flavorful Fried tofu with lemongrass and chili flakes - tasty, the lemongrass was fragrant Fried tofu with woodear mushrooms and onions - tasty, the sautéed green onions were fragrant #1 combo sub banh mi - the bread, deli meats, and veggies were fresh and tasty, wish the bread was a bit crunchier Tofu dessert with ginger syrup - the tofu was soft and fresh, the ginger syrup was delicious I would like to come back for more fried tofu and tofu dessert with ginger syrup and try some more desserts, soy milk, banh cuon (if they have it).

Thanh Son has a few locations around the US but not the same quality across the board (referencing the one from OC). Food-wise, this is one of the best places for bánh mì in Seattle. I'll probably try the soy milk and tofu one of these days, as these are their specialty items. There's 2 different lines to buy take out items versus bánh mì, by the way. Because this is a take out spot, some items are sitting around, which affects the taste: * xôi (sweet sticky, glutinous rice): I got the tri-color one, and they all tasted exactly the same, so it must be food coloring. Usually, the taste is different from natural flavors. * bánh giò (banana leaf wrapped pork dumpling): The flavor for this was good, but my stomach didn't like this one too much. I prefer the one from Nissi Banh. * bánh tiêu (sesame bread): pretty good Like a lot of Vietnamese delis/take-out spots (or at least the ones that I'm used to), prices aren't posted for items not on the menu board, so you will have to ask though I agree it would make life easier if they were more transparent.

You're here for the banh mi. They make very good sandwiches and that's all you should order - vegetarian options are also available. The bread could be improved a bit (go early to get fresher loafs) but the fillings are moist and generous. They do offer other smaller options and drinks as well but nothing compares to the sandwiches. Staff can be a bit short and unfriendly but they do a good job serving their sandwiches. There's a small free parking lot on site but otherwise you're parking on the street.

Huge fan of this spot! So glad we found this on Yelp because this is my tofu heaven! It's a casual walk in spot. They have a little parking lot so if you come when it's not too busy, parking is easy. Service is nice! It's kind of like a store and deli combined. They have an area where you can order bahn mi sandwiches, an area to shop for prepared items, and an area to order cooked tofu by the pound. Their bahn mi sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced! We got the combo and the grilled pork. We also bought their tofu dessert, a drink from the case, some fresh sweetened soy milk, and pickled veggies. Next time I really want to try their cooked tofu items!

This is probably one of my favorite banh mi deli places as the flavors of the banh mi's are just delicious! It's also great that they make their breads in house and fresh. The building consists of two different businesses. The left side is where you can buy desserts and fresh tofu products. Whereas, the right side is where you can order the banh mi's and any other deli items. It is a very spacious and clean building, with nice interior decor. It's great that they do have signs that encourage health safety, as in wearing masks and social distancing. On the deli side, they had a good number of people building the banh mi orders using an assembly line of three workers putting in the fillings for the banh mi's. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only downfall was the limited parking. They do have a private parking lot, but the parking can be rather difficult because of limited space in the lot. Other than parking, everything was great and I'd definitely continue to go here for my banh mi.

Came here to buy some tofu. I hadn't eaten this kind of stuff for years and I was missing my parents cooking. The store is clean and there's things around the deli as well as the cases where they serve you. The lemongrass tofu had a lot of lemongrass flavor. The mushroom and onion had a lot of noodles and mushrooms which I loved. Also grabbed a grilled pork banh mi and that was pretty good as well. I also got vegetarian food. It was a little bland but I'll have to eat some more to try it. I also got sweetened soy milk and it is delicious! Overall it was great service and food.
